Project Kampfire Staff Team

Chris “Raven” Sheasby, CEO (He/Him)

Chris, known as “Raven” in these parts, began his journey at Project Kampfire, formerly Kamp Kiwanis, in 2000 as an Outdoor Program Leader and immediately fell in love with the place. During the past 25 years, he has worked every job at Kamp, except for Lifeguard - apparently doggie paddle is not recognized as an acceptable stroke! Raven holds degrees in History and Education and has over 25 years experience working in camp settings.

Raven grew up in Calgary where his love for the outdoors was fostered. Many weekends were spent cross country skiing, mountain biking, or climbing. During high school, Raven volunteered for a week as a Counsellor for an Outdoor School Program. It was during this experience that the first sparks of his career were lit. Raven volunteered for another two years and then began working seasonally at Kamp. After a brief stint learning to build guitars in Vancouver and a few months teaching in Calgary, Raven found that helping kids enjoy the outdoors was what he wanted to do full time. In 2009, Raven became the Camp Director and now has been the CEO for over a decade.

Raven’s favourite thing about Kamp is how it empowers people to be the best version of themselves while helping others grow in their own version of their best self. Kamp really is the ultimate expression of community!

When Raven is not at Kamp, you can likely find him either playing outside (climbing, hiking, kayaking, biking, cross country skiing, snowshoeing - pretty much anything outside), roasting coffee, or cooking pizza (the pandemic upped his pizza game considerably!)

Jenn “Splash” Radder, Program Director (She/Her)

Jenn, known as “Splash,” began her adventures at Project Kampfire, formerly Kamp Kiwanis, in 2000 in the role of Summer Arts & Crafts/First Aid Coordinator when her Kamp name was “Echinacea” or “Ecky.”  Throughout the past 25 years, Splash has held various positions at Kamp including Outdoor School Program Leader, Cross-Country Skiing Instructor, Special Events Coordinator, Rentals Coordinator, Day Trip Coordinator, Assistant Camp Director and Camp Director. Splash also served on the Board of Directors when she was not employed by Kamp. In 2016 Splash re-joined the team as Development Coordinator. In April 2022, Splash took on the role of Community Development Director. In March 2026, with some organizational restructure, Splash took on the role of Program Director. Splash holds degrees in Zoology and Education from the University of Calgary and has over 30 years of experience working in sports, recreation and camp-related settings with a focus in non-profit organizations.

Splash grew up in Ontario where her love for the outdoors began at a young age going to her grandparents’ cottages every summer and attending her first camp with Girl Guides at the age of 6. Girl Guides and school experiences connected her to more camps, outdoor school programs, canoe trips and summer jobs working as waterfront staff. Kamp holds a special place in Splash’s heart, as she has seen the positive impact the experiences have made in the lives of many children and staff. Splash met her spouse at Kamp Kiwanis and together they have 2 children, a dog and a bearded dragon.  When Splash is not at Kamp, she loves getting out to the mountains with her family and volunteers as a Girl Guide Leader.

Doug “Talon” McGregor, Operations Director (He/Him)

Born in Calgary and spending most of his life here, Doug's family introduced him to the outdoors at an early age through family camping trips, hiking and summer camp experiences. These trips ignited a passion for the outdoors that he still fosters today. It wasn’t until his first experience as a volunteer high school Counsellor at Silver Creek Outdoor School that he experienced working with youth and gained the name “Talon”. Volunteering three more times throughout his High School years, Talon went on to work at Project Kampfire (formerly Kamp Kiwanis), Silver Creek Outdoor School and Camp Chief Hector where he focused on improving both his leadership and backcountry skills.

It was in 2003 that Talon took his first kitchen job while working towards an education degree at the University of Calgary. The fast paced environment and team mentality appealed to him and his culinary career began. Throughout his career he has done fine dining, catering, and has over a decade of experience as a Head Chef in restaurants.

In 2023, Talon returned to Kamp in the role of Food Services Manager where he could combine his love of the outdoors, culinary experience, and leadership skills.

Since late 2025, Talon has been our Operations Director overseeing Operations including Food Services and Maintenance.
